Testing Out The Thermo Fractional Facial Expectations w/ an Unfiltered Review
Being in the beauty + lifestyle industry is not only fun, but it's also a chance to try out every single new product in sight while not breaking the bank. I was always avid in skincare and being mindfully healthy, but my forever obsession will be laser facials because it genuinely has changed my life.
Before getting them regularly, my stress was at an all-time high because of post-grad, adulting, and everything else. Unfortunately, that stress also translated into my skin. I tried everything possible to cover up and cure my acne breakouts. Let me tell you: this is the only thing that worked for me. It's worth investing in yourself to see the results through. If I didn't take that chance, I would probably still be shy, stressed Mia, because of my skin :(
Take the leap if you're skeptical about investing in your skincare with fancy and modern technology. As someone who has tried everything with combination and acne-prone skin, I attest that this works. Before testing this facial option, I've been doing the signature facial option with the neck + chest, and hands. So far, seeing the transformation has been rewarding, but I wanted more of a boost with acne scarring and texture.
I tried out the thermo fractional facial for the first time last week while the nurses were training, and my initial thoughts varied between these options:
My face will be red
I will look like a red tomato
God, why did I agree to do this?
It will hurt
I must put on lidocaine cream to numb my face
Okay, maybe I went overkill on the numbing cream
Dang, will I regret this?
Will I see the results?
Will I want to try this again?
I initially feared the pain level because I have sensitive skin as is, but it wasn't bad. To prep beforehand, I took the liberty to:
Wipe my face down after checking in
Apply lidocaine 30-45 minutes before going into the appointment (totally optional, but I needed it)
Hydrating like no other
Incorporate gentle skincare the night before
All of this helped. The nurses are MVPs helping you feel comfortable and aware of what's happening. If you don't want to wait and have an urge to know the intel, here's what to expect:
It feels like a light stamp pressure and takes no longer than a millisecond
Thermo fractional facials are light heat applications with micro-needling
It's more sensitive around bonier parts of the face and chest.
Varied skin responses afterward are standard such as:
Redness
Tenderness
Micro-scabbing
It takes time for your skin to adjust, but I've seen great results that smoothed my previous acne scarring and discoloration. To keep your skin glowy and radiant, aftercare is crucial:
Apply the serum for the first six hours
Afterward, apply a light moisturizer or hydrating face mask
NO Sunblock for 24 HOURS
NO Makeup for 48 HOURS
NO Working Out for 24 HOURS
After results of my thermo fractional facial
Final Thoughts
The main thing that helped me was following the aftercare religiously, especially doing the face mask after the six-hour mark. Do what's best for you. Everyone's skin concerns and skin goals are different. I think getting an opinion from someone medically trained in the skin department is always the best choice. So they went to school and learned a shit load of facts to ensure people know their options and are aware of the best practices. Utilizing the resources around you never hurts.
I will try the Ultra Duo Facial in the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned for all the excellent info soon. You can also check out more reviews of the Thermo fractional if you still want to do more research!
