Where it all started…

The writer behind ‘Let It Marinate’

Born and raised in Chicago, I’m taking on L.A. while bringing my midwestern aura into the mix. This lens is the perspective of a young mixed woman learning to live and be unapologetically Mia. I hope y’all enjoy it!

  • My family inspired the ‘Let It Marinate’ digital space. Growing up in an Asian American household, I learned many things, including my love of Korean food and pivoting. In many ways, those two aspects are similar. Sometimes items will either be undercooked or burned, but there’s always a way to bounce back and learn.

Utilizing those moments in my writing is how this outlet was born. I grew up with both first-generation parents, and with preparation comes time. Both in food and life, great moments can’t be rushed. All the good moments, including KBBQ, have to have the following:

    1. Patience

    2. Authenticity

    3. Love

  • Providing an outlet for new risk takers and lifestyle enthusiasts is an exciting chapter. I always used to have a series of what if’s while making big decisions. But the way I see it now, it’s better to know than to be wondering what if.

This mindset didn’t happen for me overnight, and I’m not saying that this practice will be instant. However, it’s something to lean into gradually. ‘Let It Marinate’ if you will.

  • A little about me is that…

    1. I was born and raised in the Midwest.

    2. I’m a young entrepreneur and writer.

    3. I wrote a book called “IMEA: Making Pivotal Moments” during quarantine.

    4. I love anything related to lifestyle, health, beauty, and fashion.

    5. I’m a woman who loves to take risks.

Aside from those facts, I’m also someone who falls both metaphorically and physically but takes time to get up and keep going. I hope my little snippets of life will serve as an outlet for encouragement and creativity.
